World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918[]
The index for the WWI draft registration cards in Clay County, Texas are misaligned with the group of images for surnames beginning with S. This misalignment carries over from surnames beginning with R and into the T surnames. Additional checking was not done to determine the extent of the problem in other surname groups for this county. Other counties were also not checked.
Indexed name misaligned to wrong image
The first image in the set is indexed to a name whose image appears as image #7. The misalignment gets gradually worse, such that towards the end the indexed names take you to an image that is 13 images away from the indexed name selected.
For example, selecting the name of Sam Lige Street in the index will take you to image #274, which is for Reuben Ebnezer Stone. Sam's card is actually located at image #287.
So be aware, there may be some names missing in the index. If you can't find someone in the index that you expected to find, it would be a good idea to browse the images alphabetically just to make sure.
